These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of mojiplace (the "Service"), operated by mojiplace.com ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We have tried to keep this document short and readable. Where it is unavoidably formal, that is to make our mutual obligations clear, not to trip you up.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using mojiplace you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Signing in requires a Google account, and is subject to Google's own terms. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
mojiplace is a shared, permanent canvas that anyone can place emoji on, one tile at a time. Signing in also gives you a personal canvas at your own handle: a small canvas whose centre only you can fill, and whose border only other people can place on. Placement is governed by a limited, regenerating pool (or five free placements before you sign in), and every placement is recorded and publicly attributed to whoever made it, permanently.
mojiplace does not proactively moderate individual placements. Any tile on the shared canvas, and any tile on your personal canvas's border, can be overwritten by anyone at any time. That is how the Service is designed to work, not a defect. We hold an emergency administrative override (to freeze the canvas or blank an area) for serious abuse, not as a routine review process.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, that create risk or legal exposure for us, or that abuse our infrastructure.
mojiplace offers a free tier and a paid Supporter tier. Supporter membership is purchased and managed entirely through Patreon. The full payment process, including entry of your payment details, happens on Patreon's platform under Patreon's own terms and privacy policy.
To cancel or change your membership, manage it in Patreon. For questions about refunds, contact us at [email protected]. Refunds, where offered, are handled on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to Patreon's policies.
Placements you make are recorded permanently and shown publicly as part of the shared canvas or a personal canvas, exactly as described in Section 2 and in our Privacy Policy. You grant us the right to store, display, and permanently retain a record of everything you place, for as long as the Service exists, because permanent public attribution is how mojiplace works. Any tile you place can be overwritten by any other user at any time, and other users can place on your personal canvas's border; you have no right to prevent this or to have it undone.
The Service itself, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service. The Noto emoji artwork used on mojiplace is licensed under the SIL Open Font License and remains the property of its respective copyright holders.
The Service relies on third parties to function, including Google (sign-in) and Patreon (Supporter billing). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
We work to keep mojiplace available and reliable, but we provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any particular tile or canvas will be free of content you find objectionable, or that any Supporter feature will be available without interruption.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including the loss or overwriting of any placement. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You may stop using the Service at any time. There is currently no self-service account deletion. Contact us at [email protected] and see our Privacy Policy for what a deletion request can and cannot remove. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we are required to by law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. The permanent, publicly attributed record of what you placed survives, as described in Sections 2 and 5.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Netherlands, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts located in Netherlands will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
